Country music megastar Collin Raye is headlining the Alabama Chocolate Festival Saturday, but it’s not his first trip to the Gadsden area. The multi-platinum singer — known for No. 1 hits like “Love, Me,” “In This Life” and “My Kind of Girl” — traveled all over the South during the early parts of his 25-year recording career, stopping at venues around Northeast Alabama, including shows at The Fuzzy Duck, a now-closed venue.

Collin Raye and Wink Martindale Celebrate King of Rock and Roll

(MARCH 2017) – On March 30, country icon Collin Raye and TV game show host Wink Martindale will join Elvis fans from around the world in traveling to Nashville to attend the inaugural Nashville Elvis Festival.  The Nashville Elvis Festival is an event like no other, celebrating the music and legacy of Elvis Presley.

The Alabama Chocolate Festival is April 1 in Rainbow City. This will be the 12th year that Rainbow City leaders have brought entertainment, activities and chocolate to Rainbow Plaza Shopping Center. Here are five good reasons for you to go.

Collin Raye to headline Alabama Chocolate Festival

Collin Raye has been announced as this year’s headliner for the Alabama Chocolate Festival.

The festival is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 1 at Rainbow Plaza, 3225 Rainbow Drive, in Rainbow City.

Raye’s performance starts at 6:30 p.m. Festival and show admission are free.

Raye is a multi-platinum recording artist, known for Billboard Country Chart No. 1 hits “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “My Kind of Girl” and “I Can Still Feel You,” among other top 10 tunes.

RBC announces Alabama Chocolate Festival lineup

On Wednesday, March 1, Rainbow City officials and Mayor Terry John Calhoun announced the lineup and activities for the 12th Annual Alabama Chocolate Festival. The festival will take place at the Rainbow Plaza in Rainbow City on Saturday, April 1. Admission to the festival is free.

Calhoun commended city employees for volunteering their time to make the Chocolate Festival a success once again.

Once again the Festival will be preceded by the Treasure Chest Hunt. This year the Hunt will be a little different. On March 20, sponsor radio stations WQSB, Mix 102.9 and Power 107.5 will be giving one clue each day. The DJs will give the clue, and listeners must call at a certain time to make a guess. The grand prize is $1,000. The grand prize winner for the treasure hunt will be announced at the festival at 4:30 p.m. on the main stage.
