Few conversations are as compelling to listen in on as those that take place between artists as they swap road tales, share career highs and lows, and dish out behind-the-scenes insight and the unknown stories behind their hit songs. Nobody knows that better than immensely likeable country star Collin Raye, who has befriended many of his fellow artists during his quarter-century-long recording career. Now, he’s parlaying those relationships into a new side career as host of the syndicated country radio feature Collin Raye’s Rewind Country, set to launch Dec. 5 on Envision Networks.

“Heroes must not be taken for granted. Those who risk their lives on a day to day basis deserve our highest respect and esteem. We can all strive to be like them. The greatest heroes are those who don’t know they are heroes, but they just do what needs to be done.” Emery County Progress.
This year, the County Fair lands on the 10 year anniversary of the Crandall Canyon Mine Disaster. In tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives that fateful day, we are bringing back Collin Raye to perform at the Heroes Never Forgotten Tribute Concert! Collin Raye was one of the true hit makers of the 1990s. Collin still continues to crank out soulful, heartfelt material with the honesty and richness that is signature to his vocals alone. With 24 top 10 records, 16 #1 hits, and having been a 10 time male vocalist of the year nominee (five CMA and five ACM), this truly electrifying performer of his era remains one of the great voices of our time. Collin Raye is nothing if not passionate. His soulful delivery has set country standards in such searing ballads as “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “Not That Different” and “If I were you”. Always an energizing showman, he has also blazed through such vivid rockers as “My Kind of Girl,” “That’s My Story,” “I Can Still Feel You” and “I Want You Bad.”
Two top country music artists — John Michael Montgomery and Collin Raye — will headline the 2017 Ashland County Fair.
The two collectively have combined for 11 No. 1 Billboard country music singles and will take the stage as co-headliners at the county fair Tuesday, Sept. 19. The county fair will run from Sept. 17 through 23, 2017.
Montgomery and Raye follow The Oak Ridge Boys (2014), Charlie Daniels Band (2015) and The Gatlin Brothers (2016) as country musicians headlining the fair. The country acts have been a hit, said Ashland County Fair manager Steve Englet.
“We found that this is what we seem to have the most success with, with country in the ’70s and ’80s and traditional country music artists,” Englet said.
