Few conversations are as compelling to listen in on as those that take place between artists as they swap road tales, share career highs and lows, and dish out behind-the-scenes insight and the unknown stories behind their hit songs. Nobody knows that better than immensely likeable country star Collin Raye, who has befriended many of his fellow artists during his quarter-century-long recording career. Now, he’s parlaying those relationships into a new side career as host of the syndicated country radio feature Collin Raye’s Rewind Country, set to launch Dec. 5 on Envision Networks.
Envision Networks® is proud to announce the debut of Collin Raye’s Rewind Country™. These daily vignettes are hosted by one of the true superstars of the 1990’s on country radio, Collin Raye. Five new episodes are produced and broadcast each week for affiliated stations.
“Rewind Country captures the history of some of the best country music artists of a generation, as we tell the great stories about the countless songs we’ll forever treasure,” says Raye, recently voted one of the top 100 country music artists of all time by Billboard Magazine. “These features are fast-moving, compelling and perfect for local businesses to sponsor. It’s great radio, and I’m thrilled to present this opportunity to country stations across the country.”

Country singer Collin Raye has performed countless concerts throughout his 25-year career in music, but it was a string of concerts in the Portland area more than 30 years ago before he made it big that changed his life.
While playing the nightclub circuit in Oregon, Raye became friends with fans Lil and Dick Ellington and noticed the “bold crucifix” Lil wore around her neck. Though he grew up Southern Baptist in De Queen, he was always intrigued by Catholicism. He went with the couple to Mass for the first time at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Portland.
Three classic country musicians are travelling to New Glasgow as part of the Roots & Boots Tour.
Tickets go on sale this week for the show at the Pictou County Wellness Centre featuring Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye.
“This tour combines three class acts into a single show filled with so many stories and songs that you will instantly recall how truly great country music was in the ’80s and ’90s,” says a press release from the East Coast Production Group.
With 24 top ten records, 16 #1 hits, and having been a 10 time male vocalist of the year nominee (5 CMA and 5 ACM), this truly electrifying performer of his era remains one of the great voices of our time.
Collin Raye has consistently used his stardom to advance social causes. Among the organizations he has supported are Boys Town, First Steps, Al-Anon, Special Olympics, Country Cares About AIDS, Catholic Relief Services, Parade of Pennies, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, The Tennessee Task Force Against Domestic Violence, The Emily Harrison Foundation, Childhelp USA, Silent Witness National Initiative, Easter Seals, The Life and Hope Network, and Make a Difference Day.
